I got this email this morning. Anyone heard about this?
All Yamaha dealers have been notified to cease any modifications to Rhinos other than OEM Yamaha parts and accessories..mainly but not limited to roll cages, rear seats suspension modifications.
At the same time all Yamaha dealers that have sold aftermarket parts of sorts are being sopena there records of all aftermarket parts purchased.,and who purchased from.
ALSO most Yamaha dealers have been sued and served today, class action ,for deaths and injuries.
The Rhino sold as a two passenger utility vehicles.
For more info contact Yamaha...

Here is the letter to the dealers:
Many companies with no connection to Yamaha manufacture accessories or
offer other modifications for Yamaha vehicles.
Yamaha is not in a position to test products that these aftermarket companies
produce. Therefore, Yamaha can neither endorse nor encourage the use of
accessories not sold by Yamaha or modifications not specifically recommended
by Yamaha.
While some aftermarket products are similar in design and quality to genuine
Yamaha products, it must be recognized that some products for sale on the
market are clearly not suitable because of the potential safety hazard to users or
others.
Your dealership should carefully evaluate products and modifications before you
offer or recommend them to your customers. If you install an accessory or
perform a modification that substantively alters the design intent or safety of a
Yamaha product, you put your customers and others at greater risk of serious
injury or death. Also be sure you fully understand that, now as re-manufacturer of
that Yamaha product, you increase your risk of liability should an accident occur.
A specific example is an aftermarket passenger seat kit installed in the cargo bed
of a Rhino Side x Side vehicle. These passenger seats substantively alter the
design intent of the Rhino as a two-person off-road vehicle, and the vehicle
operator would have to intentionally ignore several warnings on the vehicle and
in the manual to use them.
If customers ask about purchase of products that are not appropriate, such as
rear seats for the Rhino, please let your customers know why they are not
suitable, using the on-product labels and Owner’s Manual as necessary to help
them understand the issues.

We have created a generation of "I'm not responsible for my actions". It is far easier to do whaterver I want to do as opposed to what common sence tells me to do. All the Rhino mishaps would have you believe that they were just putting around and it rolled over. I've seen people doing 180's all day long or some kid that hasn't had the experience of learning how to drive a car being turned loose in numerous off road situations. There is an inherent danger to any outdoor activity and anyone with half a brain knows dirt bikes, ATV's and now UTV's can put you at the edge. Have fun, but try thinking now and then. Please forgive the rambling and mispelled words. Hey I'm old and plan to get older, stay safe.

Yup, no one is responsible for there own actions anymore. I am old too, and I haven't sued anyone... hmmm, early retirement... broken and retired! I think I will stick to my original plan - retired and broke :)

You know, I don't care what kind of vehicle that you have, we all make mistakes in judgement sometimes with bad outcomes. Not everything is the fault of a manufacturer. If you drive like an idiot, bad things can happen.

I hate lawyers. I'm in the medical profession and see so much crap. Goto the rhinorollover website (I think that is the name), bet that is where all this is coming from.
