10-22-2007, 5:01 PM LONERHINO Joined on 10-23-2007 Posts 3 Winch Drains my battery??? I got a venom winch and for some reason I have to start my Rhino every day.  If I dont the battery is dead.  When we put the winch in, I had to tap into the Ignition.  Does anyone have any solution to this problem.  Should I just get a heavy duty battery????????????HELP  Also how far under water can the winch go, B4 it shorts or quits working???    Report

Are you sure you tapped into the ignition wire, i believe its the brown wire, anyways without the key being on, it shouldnt drain it, maybe theres something else going on.. with any winch the battery should be upgraded to a heavier duty battery with alot more cranking amps, the winch will suck lots of juice and its hard on the stocker battery    Report

Connect the ignition to the relay and the winch direct to the battery. I have never had a problem with my Venom other than it won't hold my plow with 50" of cable.
