Confused [8-)] transporting rhino
Reply Quote

I JUST BOUGHT A 2008 RHINO 700SE.  THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO PUT IT IN THE BACK OF MY 2003 FORD F250 WITH 6.5' BED WITH TAILGATE DOWN BECAUSE THE TAILGATE COULD FAIL.  DOES ANYONE KNOW A WAY TO STRENGTHEN THE SUPPORT OF THE TAILGATE?  IT WOULD BE MUCH EASIER TO USE THE TRUCK INSTEAD OF A TRAILER.  WITH THE GATE DOWN THE LENGTH IS ABOUT 8.5 FEET.  PLEASE REPLY.

I have heard some guys changing the tailgate cables and installing heavier ones. I have also heard that putting down a piece of 1" plywood across the back on top of the tailgate and behind the wheel wells that stick up in the bed works also. You might have to bolt down the plywood.

I PUT TWO INCH WHEEL EXTENDERS ON. NOW I DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE TRUCK. I BOUGHT ALUMA 5X10 HD TRAILER. ALUMINUM. NICE. SINGLE AXLE. 2900LB RATED. I CAN PULL IT WITH MY JEEP.
