I've been thinking about  fabricating one, moving the airbox under the hood to reduce intake noise. Anybody tried it or have suggestions or remarks? Thanks from a new owner. Ed    Report

I have not looked close, but seems to have a pipe running from engine compartment, through the center hump in the floor and up to air cleaner box - centered under front hood. I would like to re-locate because of intake noise also. Maybe William can come up with his next product... retrofit 07' and earlier with a kit to relocate air cleaner :)    Report

I have never seen the fit of the '08 intake but I have seen a couple of comments indicating that there is no reasonable way to fit the '08 system to '07 and earlier models. The tube attached to the airbox and routed to the hood looks interesting. That shoud take the intake noise away from the cab and quiet the rhinoi down a bit. A yamaha mechanic in Alabama told me most of the ambient noise (besides normal engine noise) is actuall intake noise and not exhaust noise. Has anybody else done the snorkel to the hood and what were your results? Thanks    Report
