Send it back and get a Dynatek cdi I just put one in my 07 exploring edition rhino and it works great. Did not have to rejet either. It also gave me 46MPH and bottom end still there.

all hype I went with the dynatek because it does what it says it will do I got 46MPH and I did alot of research on the fourms and most people said get the dynatek. Also some are putting a shaved clutch sheave on. Dont know much about them but you can do a search on the net for them.

A "performance" CDI box will get you 55 mph if the following apply:

You weigh about 160  to 180 pounds, and don't carry much in the bed.

You have larger tires.

You have other modifications

My Rhino will give me 48 MPH on flat terrain, with a loaded bed (gas, cooler, tools, etc.).  I weigh 280lbs and usually have my ten year old daughter with me. The only other engine mod is a "performance" airfilter.

So, yeah... 55mph is mostly all hype.

You guys are right. No CDI will give you 55. They want you to buy a cdi. Your best modifications are a CDI, Sheave, re jetting and better air intake. That is where you get performance. I just installed the AFE cold air intake. When I put on my Long Travel from FMS I added alot more weight to the vehicle. I thought that I would lose my top end. The best speed that I got with mine was 60mph by myself. With my son 58mph. When I installed the AFE I lost top end with both of us in I am at 54 or 55 top. I need to reposition my needle and maybe re jet. I am at a 187.5 right now. For what I lost on top end I massively gained on low end and midrange torque. Top end to me is not as important as what I gained with low end and midrange torque.

I was on the Trinity racing web site. They say thier CDI will give you 6mph, with mods 55. Mods being intake, exhaust and grizzly clutch sheve. You have to remember too that is at sea level. I ride at 5000ft and higher. I get close to 50mph with the CDI, Edelbrock carb, K&N intake, slip on exhaust, and grizzly clutch at 5000ft.
