has anyone tried the short kn filter that does not fit in the box and comes with the adapter. and block the box off on the top. it looks to be a open air filter from underneath? I have not done it but concidering to get rid of some of the noise in the cab.
any suggestions on the noise in the cab would be great, also I'm getting fewms from the tail pipe. I have a full windsheild, back flap and a aluminum top.

I would question how clean it would stay. The normal box recommendations are to clean the filter every 10 hours. If you bring the intake air from undernieth you will constantly be cleaning. Performance may be better, minimal inpact on sound. 2 C anyway.
