Super Angry [8o|] yamaha tech, truthful or not

I just bought a 2004 660 from oregon state and I am from british columbia canada. I brought it home and it seemed to have fueling problems so I took it into our local dealer here. they were kind of pissy that I bought it in the U.S and didnt want to do the factory recall on the doors either so I had to phone yamaha canada direct and get them involved. long story short they made the local dealer install the doors as per the recall but when they accessed the fuel problem which was the jet, They are saying now that my enginge has a knock to it they dont know where its coming from but for 2500 bucks they will tell me. I have ridden dirt bikes my whole life and am a bit mechanically inclined and when I had it running at home I never heard a knocking sound. does this sound like BS or does anyone have any advice for me. thanks.

I'd say BS. If there was or is a knock check your fluids. Fuel issues are either a slightly poor fuel pump or the common fuel filter replacement.

As far as the doors....They are a pain but Yamaha is doing the recall to protect there liability concerns. You can take them off BUT if you get injured without doors Yamaha has your VIN number showing doors and safety issues had been corrected.

I still don't like the doors until I start flinging mud.
