Indifferent [:|] Rhino brakes squeaking
Reply Quote
I have seen numerous rhinos with brakes squeaking and mine is an 2007 with 200 miles that a 77 year old woman drove so I don't think she could have abused it in any way. I have even rode brand new rhinos that have the same annoying noise. Is there any way to fix this yamaha factory noise?

I have heard of bolt torque issues and brake pad silencer from the auto parts store. Another thought is we are all going with a heavier, longer lasting pad that would contain products that are possibly causing the problem also.

'06 rhino 660--- i had the same problem with my brakes squeeking.... pull the wheels off and unbolt the calipers, look at the caliper slide pins/bolts and see if they are dry, rusty, or corroded. take them to a wire wheel and clean them up and apply Anti-Seize to them. If u have a air die-grinder with the surface pad attachment, then lightly go over the brake rotor and brake pads to knock the glaze off. I did that to mine and it stopped the squeeking.   Also, after you wash your rhino or spray it down, you need to take it down the road immediatly afterwards to dry off the brakes.... It makes a big difference in keeping them from squeeking again. Also, before you reinstall the brake pads, apply a thin layer of red grease to the back-side, its for anti-vibration

I use penatrating oil on my brakes. Just spray the crap out of the rotor and the squeeking will stop.
